Synopsis / Sinopsis

Constantin and Elena have been married for more than half a century, and they are still in love. The story of their life together is a bitter-sweet one. It is sweet because of the love they share, and it is bitter because their time together has almost run out. At 83, Constantin still has to worry about keeping the household going. Elena, however, is there to help him along the way. Constantin sings psalms in the local church, but also milks the cow. His wife weaves and recites popular verses. Their lives seem to flow with the rhythm of poetry and the sound of old words of wisdom. Their hands are diligent, and their minds, witty. There is tenderness and good-humour in this observational documentary, and a remarkable candour of the filmmaker, who keeps his presence at a discreet nonintrusive level, so that life can flow naturally in the old traditional household.

După 55 de ani de căsătorie, Constantin şi Elena Vinca încă se mai iubesc. Povestea lor este una dulce-amăruie. Dulce graţie dragostei, amăruie din cauza timpului rămas. La 83 de ani, Constantin munceşte de zor prin gospodărie, fiecare replică de-a sa este o vorbă bună, iar soţia, Elena, îl acompaniază în toate. El cântă la biserică şi mulge vaca, ea ţese şi spune poezii populare - în gospodăria vrednicilor nemţeni viaţa curge în rime şi-n vorbe de duh. Degetele sunt harnice, iar minţile agere. Un documentar observaţional plin de tandreţe şi umor, de o autenticitate remarcabilă – prezenţa realizatorului nu se face deloc simţită şi nu tulbură mersul firesc al zilelor dintr-o gospodărie tradiţională palpitând de viaţă şi, din păcate, purtând aura lumilor pe cale de dispariţie.
