Synopsis / Sinopsis

In a traditional Syrian milieu, Manal faces the challenge of continuously proving herself as an excellent housewife. However, she secretly cherrishes a personal dream: to get back to work. While she tries hard to cope with this antagonism, her two young daughters have already found their model. It is Fulla, the charming Arab version of the Barbie Doll. Fulla is beautiful and sweet, she loves her parents and shows respect to her grandparents, she is elegant and polite. She is every family’s dream, because the manager of the „Fulla Project” knows exactly how to tackle the Arab society. Manal will have to make some choices: to be like Fulla, to follow her career, or to combine the two.

Manal trăieşte într-un mediu tradiţional sirian în care trebuie să-şi demonstreze mereu şi mereu calităţile de gospodină, deşi visul ei secret este să se întoarcă la muncă. În timp ce ea încearcă să împace aceste două aspecte contradictorii ale societăţii în care trăieşte, cele două fiice ale sale îşi găsesc un model în Fulla, versiunea arabă a păpşii Barbie. Managerul „Proiectului Fulla” ştie exact cum să o impună societăţii arabe: frumoasă, elegantă, politicoasă, îşi iubeşte părinţii şi îşi respectă bunicii, calităţi ce o fac să fie visul oricărei familii. Manal va trebui să aleagă între a fi o Fulla, a-şi urma cariera profesională sau a le îmbina pe cele două.
