Synopsis / Sinopsis

Dan, a Romanian emigrant, hardly earns a living in Spain. At home, in his village he had a wife and worked as a history and geography teacher. He could hardly afford paying the heating bills so he left, as many others, to Spain. He worked on the black market, in constructions. Now he is homeless, in Barcelona, sleeps in parks or in cardboard boxes, prays to the Lord and dreams. He cannot go back home like that. What is he expecting? January 2009. After Romania entered the EU, in 2007, the Spanish Government took measures to reduce the flow of Romanian migrants: thousands of Romanians coming to Spain are not allowed to get employed by January 2009. Dan is waiting for this two year transition period to end, so he may find a job and get his life back. A whispered harsh story. A drama told in an endless poem, on pursue, failure and belief.

Dan, un emigrant român, abia îşi mai duce zilele în Spania. Acasă, în satul lui, avea casă şi soţie şi lucra ca profesor de istorie şi geografie. Dar banii abia îi ajungeau ca să plătească încălzirea. A plecat, ca mulţi alţii, în Spania. A lucrat la negru, în construcţii. Acum e pe drumuri, în Barcelona, doarme în boscheţi sau în cutii de carton, se roagă la Dumnezeu şi visează. Acasă nu se poate întoarce aşa. Ce aşteaptă? Ianuarie 2009. După ce România a intrat în Uniunea Europeană, în 2007, guvernul spaniol a luat o măsură pentru a scădea valul de imigranţi români: mii de români din cei care au venit să lucreze în Spania nu au voie să lucreze, ca angajaţi, până în ianuarie 2009. Dan aşteaptă să se încheie această perioadă de tranziţie de doi ani, ca să îşi găsească de lucru şi să îşi refacă viaţa. O poveste extrem de dură, spusă în şoaptă. O dramă povestită într-un poem fără final, despre căutare, eşec şi credinţă.
