ASTRA FILM FESTIVAL 2009 is proud to present the portrait of Leonard Retel Helmrich, whose sesies of documentaries shot in Indonezia have won awards worldwide.
Leonard Retel Helmrich is a Dutch/Indonesian filmmaker who worked as a drama director and cameraman in the Netherlands before making his appraised Indonesian documentaries. He also developed a theoretical perspective for his work as well as a practical technique for an approach that he calls „single shot cinema”, involving long takes with a constantly moving camera, and now runs workshops for broadcasters and with filmmakers to share his technique. We welcome Leonard Retel Helmrich and his famous films in Sibiu, at ASTRA FILM.
FESTIVALUL DE FILM ASTRA 2009 are plăcerea de a prezenta portretul lui Leonard Retel Helmrich, ale cărui documentare filmate în Indonezia au caştigat premii internaţionale.
Leonard Retel Helmrich este un cineast olandezo-indonezian care a lucrat ca regizor de drame şi cameraman în Olanda înainte de a face renumitele sale documentare indoneziene. El a dezvoltat o perspectivă teoretică pentru munca sa precum şi o tehnică practică pentru o abordare pe care o numeşte „cinema cu secvenţă unică”, implicand duble lungi cu o cameră în continuă mişcare şi acum organizează ateliere pentru crainici şi cineaşti pentru a face cunoscută tehnica sa. Îl primim cu căldură pe Leonard Retel Helmrich şi celebrele sale filme la Sibiu, la ASTRA FILM.
