Synopsis / Sinopsis
German writer and minister, Eginald Schlattner witnessed the horrors of communism. Arrested and tortured by the Stasi in the 50s, he decided after months of interrogations to reveal information on writers who were against the regime. The documentary follows the history of those years, with focus on the Saxons from Transylvania, as told by Schlattner in his controversial novel “The Red Gloves.” His story is completed by confessions of other political prisoners, statements of torturers and documents. Now a minister for German prisoners and Protestants in Romanian prisons, as well as for women in Aiud, Schlattner listens to terrible confessions and blesses a woman who killed her husband. A valuable film document, which can have the motto: “Guilt cannot be measured”, on pain and loss, faith and betrayal – a contribution to the landscape of an incomplete history.
