Shooting it well: a steady camera
Master class on interview technique. Screening of interview samples from Mike’s footage. Interview framing, lighting and composition
Explain one shot sequence
Getting the sound right: introduction to sound recording apparatus for use in the field.
Screenings (Holy men and fools – Michael York, Curse of the hedgehog – Dumitru Budrala)
Ethics in ethnographic filmmaking. Responsibility to contributors.
Review and discuss rough cut
Visual media in research: methodologies and theories
