Norihito works for a company that specializes in cleaning the apartments of the recently deceased. The lonely deaths he encounters push him to face his own family trauma. Elderly Muramatsu spends his days in isolation, but the upcoming Sakura festival might change his fate. Can he find a reason to exist? The director interweaves with impressive subtlety the storylines of several characters gravitating towards the big question: how can one avoid a lonely death?
