What could a shaman, a priest, a truck driver and Grandma Valya possibly have in common? All four are residents of Olkhon Island in the middle of Lake Baikal.
We discover through evocative shots the island of Olkhon, in the middle of Lake Baikal, from the perspective of four inhabitants of different ages and occupations. They live in the only village on the island, a place where the remnants of a decaying, post-Soviet world mingle with wild nature, but also with the spirit of an indigenous tribe that once lived here. But the real character of the film is Lake Baikal, whose proximity influences the fates of the few people who still live on the island.
