First and foremost a film about adolescence, We Will Not Fade Away brims with youthfulness, innocence and hope, despite the dire circumstances it explores. Five teenagers in Donbas enjoy their last moments of childhood as they play in minefields and sunbathe by the nearby lake. And, by preparing for a trip to Nepal, they dream of escaping not only from a country at war but also from the routine of a small town.
