School by the Sea

What's it like when one has a single classmate and this is a front page in the local newspaper and a reason to go to another school? Thorvin, an 8-year-old boy from Norway, finds explanations for grown-up decisions.
Thorvin and Vilde, 8 years old, are inseparable friends, classmates and the only second-graders in a seaside school where so few students attend you can count them on your fingers. The small group of students from different grades is very close-knit, they all know each other, play together and are happy together. But for economic reasons, their school has to close and all the children are moved to a bigger school in a neighbouring town. The two friends go through a period of adaptation and adjustment, in which they humorously ask themselves existential questions like little philosophers do. Recommended for cultivating resilience in children.
