AF Junior 2024

Launched in 2009, Astra Film Junior is the largest and most complex documentary film education project for children in Romania. Designed for three age groups (6+, 11+ and 15+), Astra Film Junior includes film screenings in classic movie theaters and full-dome screenings. The films are followed by professionally moderated debates, a comic strip competition and creative writing and film workshops.
The selection of AF Junior films addresses current and educational topics of interest to children and teenagers, teachers and educational counselors, parents or grandparents. Some of the themes addressed in this year's selection of films are: the seriousness of climate change and environmental activism, the importance of your own decisions, sustainability and healthy eating, bullying, courage, achievement, human dignity, the desire to follow your dream at all costs.
This year, Astra Film Junior runs for 8 days from October 21-28. We are waiting for you to discover with your class, from Monday to Friday, from 8:30 to 15:00, the programs specially designed for the three age groups. Discover the special screening dedicated to teachers and educational counsellors on Saturday 26 October in the Educator's Profession section. The weekend brings, in the Junior Weekend section, three films for all those interested - adults and teenagers - in sustainable alternatives when it comes to nutrition or high-performance education systems.
