Constant - An Homage To The Apartment

The filmmaker pays tribute to her grandparents who have lived for many years in the same socialist apartment on the 12th floor, with a breathtaking view of the Danube River and Austria, a free world when they were young and Soviet tanks occupied Czechoslovakia. The footage of the present shows us the ever-changing landscape as seen from the window and details from inside, provoking an intimate dialog and disparate memories that have no particular logic, perhaps only an inner one. This is where an auteur movie comes from that manages to discover a connection between generations, between East and West, and in conveying a contemplative mood.
