How was the peaceful coexistence, and afterward, how were the anti-Jewish policies implemented during World War II, which led to the deportation of the Jewish community from Odorheiu Secuiesc?
The documentary film evokes the history of the former Jewish community in Odorheiu Secuiesc. The Jews who settled in the town in the 19th century became Hungarian speakers, maintaining good relations with the Hungarians of Transylvania even after the Treaty of Trianon. Today, no Jews live in the town. Most Holocaust survivors left Transylvania, moving to Israel. The tragedy that ended more than a century of peaceful coexistence remains completely unknown to the current inhabitants of Odorheiu Secuiesc. This film is an effort to recover and commemorate the memory of this community, as well as to reveal and acknowledge the mistakes of the past.
