What is life really like for workers in Eastern Europe who, in the hope of a better life, are forced to leave their families to work in the West?
A journalist from the Czech Republic goes incognito to infiltrate the "cheap labor" market in Western Europe and begins working "undercover," first as a worker on an asparagus farm in Germany, then as a maid in a hotel in Ireland, and finally as a caregiver for the elderly in France. She experiences firsthand the harsh reality faced by low-wage Eastern European workers, whose sacrifices and hard work sustain the comfort of Western society.
