Emma is 13, Malian-Dutch, and has lived in the Netherlands since she was 9. Since then, she has started to feel different: on the outside because of the color of her skin, and on the inside because of the culture she has lived in until then. We see the story of a talented and sensitive girl who shows strength and determination as she struggles to find her place in the community in which she lives. The pressure she undergoes leaves its mark, but her mother is there to support her and encourages her in the most difficult moments.
