Become a volunteer for the anniversary edition of Astra Film Festival!

The Astra International Documentary Film Festival in Sibiu opens the volunteer program for the 30th edition, which will take place between October 15-22, 2023. Young people from all over the country, who know foreign languages (knowledge of English is mandatory), responsible, motivated, creative and sociable. They can apply until September 17 in departments such as info-point, guest, public speaking, logistics, screening locations and spaces, industry, photo-video, subtitling, technical, crisis cell & office. The AFF volunteer program is part of Astra Film Festival's mission to contribute to the education of children and young people in Romania in the field of media and film.
Those who wish to become volunteers for the Astra Film Festival anniversary edition (AFF 30) can apply on the festival's website by completing a questionnaire. At the end of the program, they will receive a volunteer diploma that they can add to their CV and use as a reference for future opportunities.
Astra Film volunteers must be young people willing to work in a team, open to learning new things and facing unpredictable situations. The AFF volunteer experience contributes to the development of communication skills, quick finding of solutions for unforeseen situations, development of specific skills for organizing a cultural event and enrichment of cinematographic knowledge. Astra Film volunteers will be part of the festival's core team, will be in direct contact with guests, filmmakers and directors and will have access to AFF30 events (film screenings, concerts, exhibitions, parties).
The 30th edition of the longest-running film festival in Romania will take place between October 15-22, 2023, in Sibiu. The films selected in the official AFF 30 program will compete in four competitive sections (Emerging Voices of Documentary, Central and Eastern Europe, Romania and DocSchool). In addition to the competitive sections, the official program also includes non-competitive sections, curated selections, thematic sections and special programs.
Launched in 1993 as an innovative project in Central and Eastern Europe, the Astra Film Festival is under the High Patronage of the President of Romania and is organized by Astra Film, CNM Astra and the Astra Film Foundation, with the support of the Sibiu County Council, the Ministry of Culture, the National Center of Cinematography, the Consulate of the Federal Republic of Germany in Sibiu and the Union of Cinematographers. The event is co-financed by the Sibiu City Council through the Sibiu City Hall and by the European Union through the Creative Europe Program.
