43 titles from the official selection can be watched online until September 19th
Film lovers who did not get to see the productions presented at the Astra Film Festival, now have the opportunity to watch them online, until September 19th, 2021, at 11:59pm. 43 titles from the official selection will be available, including seven of those awarded at AFF2021. The audience that participated in the International Documentary Film Festival Astra Film Festival had to choose from approximately 200 cultural events, and the films available at AFF Online are among the most appreciated by viewers. Many of them were followed by long discussions with their directors, which is an important feature of the Astra Film Festival in Sibiu.
The price for watching a movie is 15 lei, and the subscription that allows watching all 43 movies costs 150 lei, meaning less than 3.5 lei a movie. The AFF Online platform can be accessed only from Romania through Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge. The movies can be watched online starting after the purchase of the ticket or the subscription, until the end of AFF Online 2021. "It is a great joy for us to be able to offer access to the festival`s films also to those who could not come to Sibiu in the blessed week in which the screenings were presented outdoors or in cinemas, in most cases in world or national premiere ”, said Dumitru Budrala, founding director of Astra Film Festival.
Among the 43 films available on the AFF Online platform there are also seven of the ones awarded by the juries of the competition sections: Us against us (directed by Andra Tarara - Best Documentary, Romania Section, award offered by HBO), My Uncle Tudor (directed by Olga Lucovnicova - Best Director, Romania Section, award offered by the Romanian Cultural Institute), Occasional Spies (directed by Oana Giurgiu - Special Mention, Romania Section), For your comfort and your safety (directed by Frédéric Mainçon - Special Mention, Emerging Voices in Documentary Cinema), Milkless (directed by Lidia Ilie - Best Documentary, DocSchool section, award offered by RCI), Then Comes the Evening (directed by Maja Novaković - Best Director, DocSchool Section, award offered by Cinelabs Romania), and Dear Darkness (directed by Samuel N. Schwarz - Special Mention, DocSchool Section).
